เมื่อวันที่ 7 กรกฎาคม 2566 – คุณวีระนนท์ ฟูตระกูล รองกรรมการผู้จัดการ สำนักความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ ด้านความยั่งยืนและสื่อสารองค์กร เครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์ เข้าร่วมการสัมมนาซึ่งจัดโดยสถาบันวิจัยและฝึกอบรมกระทรวงยุติธรรมแห่งประเทศญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมของการประชุมรัฐมนตรียุติธรรมพิเศษอาเซียน-ญี่ปุ่น จัดขึ้นในหัวข้อธุรกิจกับสิทธิมนุษยชน เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจและความร่วมมือที่ลึกซึ้งยิ่งขึ้น
การประชุมสัมมนาครั้งนี้เน้นเรื่อง “การเข้าถึงการเยียวยาด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน” ภายในงานมีการปาฐกถาของบุคคลสำคัญ เช่น Mr. Saito Ken, the Justice Minister of Japan และนางสาวนรีลักษณ์ แพไชยภูมิ ผู้อำนวยการกองสิทธิมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศ กรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ กระทรวงยุติธรรม และภายใต้การเสวนาหัวข้อ “การเรียนรู้จากแนวทางปฏิบัติที่ดีของบริษัทอาเซียนและญี่ปุ่น” นายวีระนนท์ ฟูตระกูล ได้พูดคุยร่วมกับผู้แทนจากบริษัท Aeon Co., Ltd. และ Fast Retailing Group Co., Ltd. ดำเนินการโดย Ms. Yamada Miwa of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
คุณวีระนนท์ ได้นำเสนอถึงแนวทางการดำเนินงานของเครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์ ในเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชน รวมถึงการประเมินผลกระทบ การปฏิบัติตามสิทธิมนุษยชน อย่างเป็นระบบของเครือฯ 8 ขั้นตอน ที่อ้างอิงจากมาตรฐานระดับนานาชาติ เช่น การดำเนินงานตามนโยบาย การประเมินผลกระทบ และกลไกการร้องทุกข์และเยียวยา โดยเน้นถึงความโปร่งใสและการรายงานผล นอกจากนี้ นายวีระนนท์ยังกล่าวถึงความท้าทาย ใน 2 ปัจจัยหลัก ในเรื่องการเข้าถึงการร้องเรียนและความเชื่อมั่นในกระบวนการดังกล่าว โดยยกตัวอย่างกรณีศึกษาของ Lotus’s Protector Line และ CPF Labor Voices Hotline ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทในเครือฯ เป็นแนวทางปฎิบัติของเครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์
C.P. Group joins the Ministry of Justice of Japan in promoting access to remedy in public symposium
7th July, 2023 – Mr. Viranon Futrakul, Vice President of the Global Partnership Office for Sustainability and Communications of Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group), took part in a public symposium hosted by the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Japan. The symposium, which was hosted as a side event of the ASEAN-Japan Special Justice Ministers Meeting, was held on the subject of business and human rights in order to further deepen understanding and cooperation.
The symposium, which was focused on “access to remedy,” comprised of keynote speeches from figures such as Mr. Saito Ken, the Justice Minister of Japan, and Ms. Nareeluc Paichaiyapoom, Director of the International Human Rights Division of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand, as well as panels of experts. Under the panel titled “Learning from Good Practices of ASEAN and Japanese Companies,” Mr. Viranon Futrakul spoke alongside representatives of Aeon Co., Ltd. and Fast Retailing Group Co., Ltd. in a discussion moderated by Ms. Yamada Miwa of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
During the panel, Mr. Viranon presented to the audience C.P. Group’s human rights efforts, including the Group’s comprehensive human rights due diligence (HRDD) program. The eight-step process is based on international standards and comprises of core steps such as policy commitment, impact assessment, and grievance and remedy mechanisms. Outlining the Group’s grievance and remedy mechanisms, Mr. Viranon emphasized the importance of transparency and reporting in ensuring the robustness of such systems. Mr. Viranon also addressed two core challenges of accessibility and trust in establishing a grievance mechanism, with Lotus’s Protector Line and C.P. Food’s Labor Voices Hotline by LPN as examples of best practices from the Group’s subsidiaries. Finally, Mr. Viranon described the entire process as a journey of constant improvement and iteration, which is necessary for the promotion of human rights throughout the value chain.
